Most administrators will use this test, which is for Technique 1 (Receive-As) or Technique 2 (Full Access). 

  1. Open Outlook on the computer running Epicenter Server.
  2. Select Tools / E-mail AccountsFor Outlook 2013/2016, select FileInfo | Account SettingsAccount Settings... 
  3. Select your Exchange account
  4. Click Change…
  5. Click More Settings
  6. Go to the Advanced tab
  7. Click the Add button in the Mailboxes area.
  8. Add the target mailbox.
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Open Outlook and click the + next to the other user’s mailbox at the bottom of the folder list.
  11. You should be able to see at least the Inbox and Contacts folders.
  12. IMPORTANT: Go back to the Microsoft Exchange window and remove all additional mailboxes that you've added. If you don't do this, you may get performance problems.


  1. Open Outlook on the computer running Epicenter Server.
  2. Select the File tab.
  3. Click Open & Export, on the left.
  4. Click Other User's Folder, on the right.
  5. Enter the name of the user that Epicenter is trying to update.
  6. Next to Folder type, select "Contacts".
  7. Click OK.
  8. In the Outlook folder tree on the left, you should see a new section labeled "Shared Contacts". Under that, you should see the name of the user whose contacts are shared. The folder will not be named Contacts.
  9. You should now see the contacts in that user's Contacts folder.
  10. You can remove the folder from the list by selecting it and deleting it.
